Turns any table into a fish cleaning table
Made for salmon. Works with every fish.
A fish cleaning tray that turns any table into a fish cleaning table: the cleaning station on your boat, a dock bench, a tailgate or a folding table at camp. Its 70° V cradle holds the fish belly-up so it can't roll while you bleed, clean and measure it. Made from ½ in FDA-compliant food-grade HDPE and stainless screws, it screws down or sits flat, and hoses clean after every trip.

How it works
Every part of this salmon cleaning tray does one job, so whatever table you set it on works like a real fish cleaning table, and you spend the bite cleaning fish instead of wrestling them.
Holds the fish belly-up in a deep V, so it can't roll while you work. No chasing it across the deck.
The walls drop low at the head end, so both gill plates are open to bleed the fish fast. Sized for kings from 9 to 20 lb.
A straight nose plate stops the head, and a notched tail dam keeps the fish from sliding out when the boat rolls. Big tails hang through the notch.
Notches every inch from 1 to 29 along the back wall. Read the length off the tail before the fish goes in the box.
Slots for two fillet knives (one takes a spoon), a pair of pliers and an ikejime, plus a stainless spike that pins the head.
A ⅜ in gap runs the length of the V and the base is open, so water and slime go straight through. Hose it out after every trip.
Boat, dock or tailgate
½ in white HDPE. Won't rust or rot, and it doesn't soak up water.
316 stainless screws. Countersunk flush at every joint. No glue, so it comes apart for a deep clean.
Screws down or sits flat. Four flush stainless screws hold the base to a boat's cleaning station, or set it on any flat table, tailgate or dock bench.
A leaping king. A king salmon is cut right through the middle cradle.
Your fish cleaning table
You don't need a dedicated fillet table. Set A Better Fish Table on any flat surface and the fish stays put, belly-up, while you work.
Screw it to the cleaning station or bait board with four stainless screws, so it stays put when the boat rolls.
Set it on the harbor's cleaning station or a dock bench. The V does the holding, so both hands are free for the knife.
Clean your catch at the launch ramp, then hose the tray off before the drive home.
A folding table, a garage bench or the patio table works too. Lift the tray off when you're done and the table is just a table again.
Sized for kings
The 30¼ in trough fits kings from about 9 to 20 lb, roughly 24 to 31½ in to the fork, and the tail dam's notch lets bigger tails hang past the end. It's just as handy for rockfish, lingcod, steelhead and trout.
Hose it out and scrub with soap and water after each trip. A dilute bleach rinse is fine.
Keep it away from boiling water and hot pressure washers. HDPE softens around 180°F.
Rinse and dry the spike after each trip.
Check the screws each season and snug any that have loosened.
Store it out of the sun when you can. Years of UV yellow plain white HDPE.
