Who we are and what's this all about?

In the cold, nutrient-rich waters of Santa Cruz, a family and a couple of good mates are working to keep a local salmon in the minds of Californians. We are a collective of stewards dedicated to the salmon, our tribe, and the health of our local community. One of the most underrated advantages of living in Santa Cruz and California is the access we get to fresh Salmon—one of the healthiest sources of protein.

Our goal is to awaken Santa Cruz to how incredibly delicious salmon is and to how vital salmon populations are to our environment, worth protecting. It’s our local resource, so we need to be first in line when it comes to protecting it for the rest of America.

There was a time just out of reach of our shared memory when California exported its Salmon around the world. This state was a mecca for the fish. When my Grandfather used to fish the San Lorenzo River with his father, the river was so full of Steelhead and Coho that it seemed as though there were more fish than water. Today, some locals don’t even know a few fish still run up its waters.

What happened in California was a combination of damming the river for water and electricity. Along with overfishing due to poor stock management. And invasive species like Striped Bass are undermining our efforts to raise fish artificially in hatcheries. If we can fill some local stomachs with responsibly caught Salmon and tickle some taste buds. That’s an important step to bringing awaness around the amazing fish.

Why We Fish

For us, fishing is an act of respect. We believe that the salmon is one of nature’s greatest gifts, providing life-sustaining proteins and healthy fats that have nourished people on this coast for millennia.

We operate under a simple but powerful philosophy: To be forgotten is to be lost.

We believe that if our community stops eating local salmon, they will stop fighting for the rivers and oceans that support them. By bringing sustainable, wild-caught salmon to your table and to our tribe, we are ensuring that this magnificent species remains a celebrated and protected part of our daily lives.

Our Commitment

  • Sustainability: We use methods that protect the ecosystem, ensuring that the salmon population remains vibrant and healthy.

  • The Best Salmon: Honoring the fish by a quick death. We brain spike and Ike Jime our fish for the best flavor and meat.

  • Local Impact: By bringing this amazing fish directly to locals and educating them on how to cook it, we keep the Salmon top of mind in the community.

“We eat the salmon to remember the salmon. Every meal is a tribute to the water.”

Who are we?

Salmonoids are by far our favorite fish. And between us all, we have spent a lot of time fishing for them.  One thing our time on the water has taught us is that respecting the fish means honoring its meat by killing the salmon quickly and clearing the fish of any stagnant blood.  This will be our first season fishing for salmon commercially, and we will share the highest-quality salmon meat available. Join the adventure by following us on social media.
